Visit to the City of Bath

Monday 11th November 2013

On this visit members will be free to choose for themselves what they wish to do in Bath.   An Introductory Guided Tour has been arranged covering the important sites for those who would like it.

Cost: £12.50 (covers coach fare only).  Coach will pickup from and return to The Salway Arms, Tenbury Swimming Pool and The Hundred House.

10:30 am  Arrival in Bath with the opportunity to have coffee

11 am   Guided Tour of the Main Sites.  Cost £3 - £5 depending on numbers, payable on coach

12:30    Luncheon - own choice

14:30    Suggested visit to the Holburne Museum, Great Pultney Street.  Entry Free.  This is one of Bath's great buildings with a new extension and garden cafe (light lunches and teas).  Collection includes Renaissance treasures, paintings by Gainsborough, Stubbs and Ramsay.  In addition, fine silver and embroideries.  (There is a special added exhibition sponsored by the Art Fund called "Characters" with among others, paintings by Lucien Frud and Francis Bacon.  Entry is £6.95, concessions)

Alternatives:  Tour inside the Abbey - Free - donations please; Assembly Rooms and Fashion Museum Open 11 - 4  Tickets £2; N.T. Free (on a bus route); Christmas shopping.

17:00 coach collects us at City Centre drop off point.
